Turn island green

The "Turn island green" project of the association Murtila from the island of Čiovo in cooperation with the Association of Dobra Dobričević from Lastovo is an initiative aimed at encouraging the development of civil society on our islands, with the aim of protecting the environment through sustainable tourism as a key priority in the EU.

The main focus of the project is to educate the local population, with a special emphasis on young people, about the importance of caring for our natural and cultural heritage and how to contribute to sustainable tourism.

The project will take place through:
1. Ecological workshops and actions,
2. Educational shows,
3. Creation of promotional materials on ecological transformation,
4. Actions to clean up and preserve our natural and cultural heritage.

The intention is to empower local communities to take an active role in protecting and preserving the environment. Through practical and educational activities, we want to raise awareness of the importance of preserving natural resources and promote sustainable practices that contribute to a better future for our islands. The project includes the islands of Čiovo as the carrier of the activity, followed by Lastovo and Hvar.

The "Turn island green" project was co-financed by the Ministry of Regional Development and EU funds.

The project is supported by the Okrug Municipality and the Okrug Tourist Board.
